Description
The Karoo is a semi-arid scrubland occupying much of the South African interior plateau; once a great inland sea. Extensive sheep farms with remote homesteads dot the peaceful landscape which has a unique beauty. In this design, a characteristic windmill and borehole dominate the scene, with Helmeted Guineafowl drinking at the reservoir and a Scrub Hare motionless among the rocks; distinctive flat-topped Karoo ‘inselbergs’ appear behind.
